Between men's basketball, Stake meetings, and RS activities, Tuesday have become very busy.

I have looked at the stake and ward calendars and have asked all the upcoming hostesses if we can change the days and have decided it would be best to do.

Book Clubs are now going to be on the 4th Wednesday of each month. I know that we have YM and YW's on Wednesday nights for this year, but book club starts at 8:00 p.m. so hopefully, if you really want to come to it, you can join us when the activity is over or when the husbands come home. I am sorry for the group of you this will affect. I tried to look at all the options.

I also tried to look at weeks that we did not have stake or ward activities already going on. I wanted to limit the amount of evenings we are all out of the home each week.

I have updated the schedule on the right of the blog. Please make a note on your calendars.

For the month of March, Jen Karford still has some copies of the book club book if anyone wants it. Contact her if you want to borrow one of them.Nicole Brownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06507785325723977807noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697985651834566306.post-30030946586453535432010-02-01T17:01:00.000-08:002010-02-01T17:02:19.457-08:00Free Museum Day Feb. 6Enjoy the 12th Annual Free Museum Day on Saturday, February 6, when 25 area museums are all open free of charge.
You can also get free parking at The California Museum, take a tour, and hop on the shuttle for the next museum without worrying about parking, meters, or traffic!
Museum Day, a Sacramento cultural tradition, invites all members of the community to experience the Capital City’s incredible wealth of art, history, science and wildlife at numerous participating museums at no cost, with free admission at the Zoo, the Aerospace Museum, the Explorit Science Center and many more.
Find out more, including the full list of participating museums, parking suggestions, and detailed shuttle information, at the Sacramento Museum Guide.LisaMechamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264230446444916450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697985651834566306.post-58822149338770420592010-01-19T22:17:00.000-08:002010-01-19T22:27:09.569-08:00In Home Care ProvidersDo you provide and are registered as an In-Home Support Services care provider or do you have recommendations that might come in handy for someone? Put a comment here.
For example, I just got a call from Tracy Van Overbeek TRACYVOBS1@YAHOO.COM of the Oakridge ward seeking to get the word out about her services and it's really interesting. I know insurance sometimes covers some of these services when you don't drive or are temporarily disabled and even your parents or grandparents may need these services as they age, etc. or ANYONE would maybe need these services. She's available to provide in‐home support services in Sacramento County, El Dorado County and Placer Countyand registered with the Sacramento County In‐Home Support Services (IHSS). I think this will work better for the majority of you. Mark you calendars that starting NEXT Friday, September 25th we will have Park Days at 11:30. We will still rotate parks each month as the schedule will show but we will only have 1 park day and it will be more of a "Picnic in the Park". I think this can be a lot of fun. So each Friday, pack up some lunch and hold off on those afternoon naps and come and join us in the park.Nicole Brownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06507785325723977807noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697985651834566306.post-43597870600721986912009-08-31T07:15:00.000-07:002009-08-31T07:16:51.825-07:00September Book Club Date ChangeDue to the Priesthood Meeting that has been scheduled for September 15th, we are changing book club to the following week, September 22nd at 8:00. The hostess, Jennie would like to send the following message to everyone:

"I'm not really concerned if people read the book or not before they come as the principles in it are fabulous ~ the idea of finding the best Christmas ever as a family by giving the best of yourselves to others! I would love to invite the sisters to bring ideas/traditions that work for their families about one or more of the following ideas:

economical gift giving
meaningful gift giving
memory-making gift giving
family traditions that help them focus on Christ

I see this evening as being a great "get ready to experience the best Christmas season of your life" evening as we share ideas on how to focus on the true meaning of Christmas as a family.

I'd also like to invite the sisters to bring a favorite Christmas dish/recipe if they would care to share! Hopefully, it's not too early! I just LOVE the holiday season and can't wait for it to come -- especially the giving/sharing part!"Nicole Brownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06507785325723977807noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697985651834566306.post-51064573301383368992009-08-27T08:57:00.000-07:002009-08-27T09:02:48.195-07:00Political Fun!Getting involved in politics is FUN and EASY. Here is an example of how. Let your voice be heard. Gov. Schwartzenegger is being pressured more from all sides to sign Senate Bill 572. SB 572 would pressure every California public school to have an official Harvey Milk Day promoting the homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda to children as young as kindergarten. This legislation is written so broadly that it could allow gay-pride parades on campus, cross-dressing, and homosexual marriage dramas, etc. It's all going to come down to how much pressure California 's governor feels. Last year the Democrat-controlled Legislature passed Harvey Milk Gay Day, but Schwartzenegger vetoed it.
This call takes <30 seconds to complete.
Call Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at 916-445-2841.
Listen to the recorded message and press buttons! Easy!
1 (English)
2 (legislation)
1 (SB 572)
2 (against)LisaMechamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10264230446444916450noreply@blogger.com3
