JULY BOOK CLUB SUMMER READ

I have come across some books that I have LOVED and many others have LOVED and I think it would make for a wonderful discussion at a book club. My mother had recommended these books to me many years ago and since they are written by a "christian author" I put them very low on my "priority to read" list. She had told me that she and her friends were really into them and talked about them all the time. Still, since I struggle with "christian books" and "church books" I did not want to read them. Finally, I did and I have LOVED it! For those of you who like christian books, you will love them. For those like me that find christian authors "cheesy", will also love them.

So...since we did not have a July book club scheduled, I would like to have a book club in July. The books are actually a series and I would like to do numbers 1 and 2. I think we can have a great discussion with just those and do not need to discuss 3 (unless we all have read it).

The books are: A Voice in the Wind (Mark of the Lion #1) by Francine Rivers
and An Echo in the Darkness (Mark of the Lion #2) by Francine Rivers

These are great summer reads and I look forward to discussing them with you. I have copies of all three but you may need to wait for them to be available. Otherwise, they are at the library and on amazon used for about $3.00 (plus shipping).

As it gets closer, I will ask how many of you have read them. I will then decide if we will do Book Club at Mimi's Cafe or my house. I am anxious to hear what everyone thinks! Give them a try!
