I always enjoy Dr. Ludlow as well, but I knew them when I was in the 4th ward. They are a great family.
Avoid Smile Care on East Bidwell by Osh. We went there and they were terrible.
We liked Dr. Brett Jensen on E. Bidwell near the Wellness Center, but stopped going because he was out of network for us and once all the boys started going...
So now we see Dr. Curtis Croft on Natoma St next to the library/zoo/Lion's park. Although it doesn't really matter, he is also a member of the church. We have MetLife Insurance.
The Tooth Station (Children's dentist) - 984-6747 @ 1621 Creekside Dr. Suite 101
Dr. Greg Borrowdale is excellent. His partner Dr. Lucy is great as well, I hear. (I've always seen him.) Hygienist named Susan is the best! 785 Hana Way (near Creekside and E Bidwell); ph: 983.1100 My insurance is Delta Dental via Intel. I think they take most everything.
For adults, Dr. Bret Jensen is GREAT! All my co-workers see him now, too. My kids do fine, there but it's not specializing for children and you can't go back with your children either, which is a deal breaker for some people.
There are 2 offices I really like in this area:
Dr Collins in old folsom does great work. 985-2550
Dr Cope in EDH is fantastic & honest!!

Be careful w/ Dr Ludlow~ He is rebilling for the last 5 yrs, because his fires secretary didn't take good records... My friend has an $1500 outstanding bill when they paid for services and had dual insurances! Yikes!!!
Never go to Smile Care, Gateway Dental, or Dr Hamid Nasr!!!

That is frustrating about the Dr. Ludlow billing. I have been going there for 4 years now and have no problems. They have always billed my insurance and always billed me appropriately after. No problems with them so far and the girls and myself go there. I love the movies and the hand treatments.
My sister works for Dr. Cope in El Dorado Hills. He's kind of a perfectionist and his office is immaculate. He expects a lot of the staff, and he's also a member of the church. If you're looking for the best of the best, that's where to go. But I'm not sure if he's more expensive than others cause he doesn't take my insurance.
I want to put in another recommendation for this dentist. Nicole H. had put this earlier and since then I have taken my kids and they are awesome! I have been more than happy with them for my kids.
